Longtime employment law attorney, Li-An C. Leonard, guides clients through the maze of California and federal statutes and regulations which govern the various leaves employers are required to provide eligible employees. She assists clients in complying with California and federal wage and hour laws. She also counsels clients on a wide range of employment matters, from hiring employees to terminating the employment relationship. Li-An co-chairs Duckor Spradling Metzger & Wynne’s Employment Practice group. Among the topics she will address are:
Ø The recent Supreme Court case differentiating between independent contractors and employees
Ø Changes in rules relating to what questions potential employers can and can't ask job candidates
Ø A host of other sticky-wicket employment issues that can baffle both bookkeepers and their clients
Li-An holds a JD from the University of San Diego School of Law and a BA in Psychology from Point Loma College.
